Cahokia Mounds Historic Site, a pre-Columbia Native American archeological site in southern Illinois, conveys a quiet, spiritual atmosphere with its soft, rolling, earthen forms. Their presence within the surrounding flat agricultural midwest landscape alters ones sense of time and space. These pages were painted with black ink and ink wash on elephant dung paper.
